Our Family Journey

Chase and I grew up loving animals. When we moved away to North Dakota to start our careers we also decided to start our family by adding the perfect dog. For each person finding the perfect dog means something different but we focused on a breed that would be compatible with our lifestyle.

The traits we sought were loyalty, companionship, security, hygiene, and an even temperament. That is what started our journey for an athletic medium sized dog that would not shed. Living in an apartment we targeted dogs that required light exercise and had low/medium energy. After some time online searching it became clear that the fun, charming, and spirited Bedlington Terrier would be perfect!

The Original

Leonidas quickly acclimated to becoming a member of the family. His favorite treat, which we took advantage of for training, is rotisserie chicken. His demeanor is exactly what we were looking for and true to our research on the AKC website.

He loves to be outside whether it is below zero or over 100 and will never turn down a belly rub. His favorite days are spent at the beach playing fetch or chasing squirrels.

The Sweetheart

We knew shortly after getting Leo, we needed to find him a wifey. It was no easy task finding the perfect female within the breed’s small network. In due time we found Athena, who is the ying to Leo’s yang.

If she’s not chasing Leo around the apartment or chewing on a bone, you will usually find her snuggling up with the family. She’s a friendly shadow who will join you anywhere. You can also find her down at the beach chasing Frisbees with Leo.
